On Sunday 9th September 2012, more than 100 wonderful epople took part in the World Yoga Aid Challenge at the St Kilda Encore Yoga Aid Melbourne Event. The beneficiary for this event was the Black Dog Institute and I was proud to attend the event as the speaker and Victorian representative for the Black Dog Institute.
Yoga Aid World Challenge is a 24-hour global yoga-relay. Beginning in Australia, the World Challenge will follow the sun west, tour through 20+ countries, and end at sunset in Los Angeles. There were 1000’s of people who took part in more than 27 countries for this event.
An early start on a Sunday but a great way to start the day. 108 salutations and yoga movements over 2 hours. Encore at St Kilda provided a beautiful ocean front venue for a peaceful practice of Yoga in the morning. There was a great energy in the room throughout the entire session and a real community feel to the event.
Congratulations to the wonderful organisers Ammie Kommel and Emma Reigelhuth and their team. They put in a lot of work to pull this event together and to raise more than $3000 for the very worthy cause of Black Dog Institute, a not-for-profit, educational, research, clinical and community-oriented facility offering specialist expertise in depression and bipola disorder.

Thank you to sponsors:
Stay tuned for next years event:
