Four years ago today, I said yes for the first time in my adult life. Granted those who know me well, know that I struggle to say no. But by saying ‘yes’ to October 20th, 2012 my life changed for good.

When I suffered from my worst stages of Depression in my adolescence I just couldn’t ever say yes to life. It’s not that I didn’t want to. I just couldn’t. I was simply to busy trying to survive- and that is by no means being over dramatic  or exaggerating at all, when you have Depression you are robbed of all your energy, motivation, self- worth, confidence, hope, bravery, resilience and any control of your emotions. Your mind is all consumed with this awful mix of feelings and thoughts that never leave you alone and take control of your every action. Getting out of bed in the morning is a…
