I have loved this quote for a long time but now it seems even more apt. I will be climbing to Everest Base Camp in March 2015. These words fill with me courage and determination. It truly is so much about mind over matter. We need a strong body, but if our mind is not on board, we simply cannot make it. Reaching the summit of a mountain is an incredible physical feat but the emotional and personal achievement will carry on long after that moment.
My mother bought this shirt for me as she just said it was so me and the way I am living my life. Especially after having climbed a mountain in 2011, Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. I also love rainbows and I love skiing and snowboarding so it makes even more sense! I wear this shirt with pride and always think of my training ambitions and my mum when I wear it.
These words will power me on in those times where I feel weary, my muscles are aching and my emotions are setting in. This great man was first to reach the height of Everest with his dear companion, Tenzing Norgay, and I cannot wait to follow in his footsteps.
