We went to Salamanca Markets on the Saturday of our Tasmanian visit and thoroughly enjoyed the bustling atmosphere in Hobart.
This market in 2012 is celebrating it’s 40th Anniversary and is known as one of Australia’s best outdoor markets.
I loved the live outdoor entertainment with many buskers spread throughout the market. My favourite being young Harrison Manton, 14 y.o. and a total rockstar. His melodious voice dew me in from across the market and I was even compelled to by a CD. I loved all the music as we browsed the lovely stalls.

Fresh bread, hot coffee and delicious fresh strawberries made for the perfect market breakfast.
Fun fact: The first ever market was held on January 22, 1972 here at Salamanca, Hobart, Tasmania.

There are more than 300 stalls at the Salamanca Market and it’s one of Tasmania’s most visited tourist venues.

I love Salamanca Market and try to get there whenever I visit my friend who lives in Hobart. There’s always great buskers, interesting stalls, tasty food and a wonderful atmosphere. You’ve captured it well.

Thanks Karen. Short and sweet on this one.
I could have written pages and pages on the warm and wonderful atmosphere but pictures speak 1000 words.
