A Saturday morning walk along the yarra is a great way to start the weekend as well as a good way to keep up my Mountian Climbing Training.
I will be Climbing Mt Kilimanjaro this year and I really need to get my training on. We’re talking 6 days of 7 hours a day walking. Practice makes perfect right?
I’ve been so lucky that my lovely friend Steph has decided to join me and we are going to get ourselves on the training regime!
Steph took me for a fantastic Walk the other week down the Yarra River right near Abbotsford. A short walk past the residential area, and down to the river side.
We walked past the convent and on to the childrens farm and café. It’s such a gorgeous area and so calm and quiet even though it’s right near the bustling Victoria Rd in Abbotsford.
I’m thinking this will have to be one of our regular walking tracks.
As well as the fact I want to visit the cutie donkeys again !
I will be taking on my biggest Adventure yet, Climbing Kilimanjaro for Alzheimer’s Australia NSW! I will Climb Kilimanjaro in honour of my Grandpa who passed away from Alzheimer’s in 2008. I was in Africa when I found out and I said at the time I would one day do this for him, in his memory! We are raising money for Alzheimer’s Australia NSW to raise awareness and the necessary funds for prevention of the disease that affects so many. Dementia is the third leading cause of death in Australia, after heart disease and stroke. We must prevent and find a cure as it’s not a normal part of aging, and does affect 100,000’s of Australians.
Help me reach my $10.000 target by donating to my online fundraising page:
